Project
University Health Retama
Along the I-35 corridor north of Loop 1604, University Health broke ground on February 21, 2024, for the University Health Retama Hospital. This community hospital includes a 24/7 emergency department, labor and delivery unit, radiology, laboratory, pharmacy, neonatal intensive care unit/nursery, and inpatient units. The hospital opened with 140 beds and is designed to expand to 286 beds as this area continues to grow. The new Retama hospital is a twin of a new hospital built right next to Vida called University Health Palo Alto. MLN Fire Protection also provided fire protection to the Palo Alto hospital.
For the Retama Hospital, MLN Fire Protection joint ventured with VSC Fire and Security to provide two standpipes with five risers, two fire pumps, 44 wet pipe systems, four dry pipe systems, and 12 pre-action systems.
