University Health Palo Alto Hospital

University Health Palo Alto Hospital, broke ground on January 18, 2024. It includes a 24/7 emergency department and labor & delivery unit, radiology, laboratory, pharmacy, a neonatal intensive care unit/nursery, and inpatient units. The hospital opens with 166 beds and is designed to expand to 286 beds as this area continues to grow.
The new state-of-the-art facility and its attached medical office building are on the same campus as University Health Vida, a multi-specialty health center and new headquarters for the University Health Institute for Public Health, which will open.
The new Palo Alto hospital is a twin of a new hospital being built on the far Northeast Side of the county called University Health Retama. MLN Fire Protection also provided fire protection to Retama hospital.
Both hospitals offer comprehensive medical care, including labor and delivery services.
For the Palo Alto Hospital, MLN Fire Protection designed, coordinated, and installed two standpipes with five risers, two fire pumps, 44 wet pipe systems, four dry pipe systems, and 12 pre-action systems.
