INEOS Chocolate Bayou and Battleground

INEOS Oligomers is adding a new plant to its Chocolate Bayou site in Alvin, Texas and INEOS Olefins & Polymers is expanding its existing polyethylene manufacturing facility at its Battleground site in La Porte, Texas.

INEOS is a leading manufacturer of petrochemicals, specialty chemicals and oil products. The new Linear Alpha Olefin (LAO) plant at Chocolate Bayou will provide raw materials to the area’s petroleum and chemical industry.

The INEOS Chocolate Bayou project is world scale in terms of construction. Company officials expect between 800 and 1,000 construction workers on site and construction costs are expected to be more than $500 million.

The linear alpha olefins plant will grow the site that already has two ethylene crackers and access to the U.S. Gulf Coast ethylene pipeline distribution network.
