Project
Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital Expansion/Renovation
MLN Fire Protection is furnishing a wet pipe sprinkler system for Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital’s five-story addition.
MLN Fire Protection must tie into an existing standpipe system and extend it into the new area. It is necessary to keep systems in service throughout construction with no interruption to patients and staff. System drain downs and the refilling of life safety systems require direct interface with the owner.
For the addition of a Civil Fire Protection Line, the MLN team drained down the existing sprinkler system, cut and tied into a 12-inch underground fire line, and installed a new six-inch underground valve – all during an eight-hour shutdown of the existing hospital.
MLN is also installing a 750-foot, six-inch underground fire loop around the new hospital. The overall project is 160,000 square feet.
