Texas A&M University, Lechner Hall
MLN’s Special Projects was awarded as the prime contractor the Texas A&M’s Lechner Hall HVAC Renovation project that was completed in the summer of 2021. The scope-of-work on this mechanical retrofit project included demolition of the existing pipe in 14 chases and horizontal runs in the crawl space, installation of new riser piping with the main riser being done in Aquatherm, piping insulation, installation of a new RTU, replaced 128+ FCU’s, rebuilding of pump room, installation of new hatches and ventilation fans in the crawl space, electrical service upgrades, new lighting, new building management system, relocation of fire protection system, installation of a new lay-in ceiling in the hallways and dorm rooms, along with other architectural improvements. This project had a 75 day start to completion construction schedule.
MLN’s Business Development Representative, Stephen Brenan, worked closely with Southeast Service Corporation (SSC) and Ramirez-Simon Engineering to secure the project. MLN’s Construction Operations team led by Bob Brohman, Cecil Bennett, and Troy Thompson with subcontract support from Aggieland Construction, Britt Rice Electric, Phoenix Insulation, and Siemens Building Technologies will complete this compressed schedule construction event.
