Fire Protection that’s Better by Degrees

Ensure the life and stability of your system with regular testing and maintenance

Fire Protection

Fire protection systems adapted to both form and function.

Keeping your facility and your tenants safe is paramount. Whether you are retrofitting an old building or constructing a brand new one, MLN’s NICET-certified designers will work diligently to plan, fabricate, install, inspect, and service fire protection systems that not only meet local and state codes, but that exceed aesthetic expectations. Using Cad-based software, our skilled designers provide efficient layout and sizing of systems, from BIM to tablet to install. These technologies facilitate understanding among all trades, allowing all to share the same visual schematics in the field. For you that means enhanced efficiency and reduced cost.

  • Not only can MLN design, install and repair wet-pipe fire suppression systems, we’ll manage the project from start to finish, minimizing disruption.
  • Dry-pipe systems are complex. It takes experience to design and install them in unheated buildings, parking garages, and in other water-sensitive areas.
  • In fragile environments like archival vaults and rare-book libraries, it’s important to have dual-action fire protection. MLN has the expertise these situations demand.
  • A standpipe is a type of rigid water piping built into multi-story buildings in a vertical position or bridges in a horizontal position. Fire hoses can be connected, to the standpipe allowing manual application of water to the fire. Within the context of a building, a standpipe serves the same purpose as a fire hydrant.
  • A fire pump is a part of a fire sprinkler system's water supply and powered by electric, diesel or steam. The pump intake is either connected to the public underground water supply piping, or a static water source (water storage tank). The pump provides water flow at a higher pressure to the sprinkler system risers and hose standpipes. The fire pump starts when the pressure in the fire sprinkler system drops below a threshold.
  • Fire Protection Tanks are atmospheric water storage tanks specifically designed for use as part of fire suppression systems in commercial or institutional buildings. A properly sized water storage tank will prove valuable during firefighting emergencies, especially when water demands exceed the building's domestic water feed supply or during intervals of troubling regional water shortages.
  • A FM/Ecaro fire suppression system relies upon its ability to absorb the heat energy from the combustion reaction at the molecular level. The ability to absorb heat faster than the amount of heat generated by the combustion reaction essentially ceases the reaction since it cannot sustain itself. Ecaro is an electrically non-conductive, non-corrosive fire suppression agent that is free of residue, has zero ozone-depletion potential and is an environmentally preferred suppressant.
