Project

Harris County Annex 44 – Cotton Exchange Building

MLN’s Service group furnished and installed one 500-ton Carrier Aqua Edge Water Cooled chiller and two B&G Pumps and Motors in the 16-story Harris County Annex 44, also known as the Cotton Exchange Building. The government office facility is located in downtown Houston and managed by Harris County Facilities & Property Management. MLN also upgraded the electrical system by installing a new transformer changing from 208/230/3 to 460/3.

The group installed rigging, crane and materials for the removal of an existing 450-ton chiller, pumps and approximately 200’ of 8” and 10” steel piping from the equipment room in the basement of the Cotton Exchange building.

The entire office facility was able to remain open during the construction. In addition, the MLN team installed starters and ABB drives for the pumps, control sensors, isolation and butterfly valves, insulated the chiller connections and chilled water piping in the building. Painting of the new equipment and chilled water piping was matched to the existing painted water lines.
